We are here at Thompson Cancer Survival Center for my 7th chemo treatment. In just a few minutes I will donate more blood for the good cause of beating cancer (my own), and let’s hope that the blood tests come back with good news.

Two weeks ago my neutrophils doubled from 500 to 1000, and we hope they continue that trend this week also. The platelets, hemoglobin, and everything else should continue to be okay. The main thing we’re concerned about is the neutrophils. Hopefully they will continue to increase.

After getting the bloodwork results, we’ll pop up to the doctor’s office on the 6th floor for a brief visit, and then we’ll come back down to the 1st floor for chemo. Hopefully we’ll be out of here by 1 or 2 this afternoon.

As always, Jacqui will be with me the entire time, which is awesome. Everyone who works here has gotten used to the fact that we “travel in pairs.” Jacqui is a tremendous source of strength and encouragement for me during this time, and I do my best to take care of her as well.

1 yr anniversary

My parents are coming to visit during chemo today. They have come to support us at every single chemo, and they are awesome because they bring us lunch! We still have to figure out what we want for lunch today, though. We would like your help. Call or text me with your lunch suggestion, or just comment on this post.

We’ll post an update about the neutrophils soon, and after chemo today, the progress bar will go from 50 to 58%, and we’ll be that much closer to the end of chemo.
