Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 – 906 DAYS… is a lot! That’s how many days have passed since my chemo port was installed, on Monday, June 28, 2010. Today is a good day, because today, I am healthy enough and cancer free enough to have my chemo port REMOVED. It is going BYE-BYE! Adios. Hasta la vista. Sayonara. Adieux.
My one year scan in November 2012 was clean, no signs of cancer, the (noncancerous) tissue mass in my chest has gotten even smaller, and the time has come to retire my chemo port. Happy dance!
The doctor visit is scheduled for 9am on Wednesday, Dec 19, 2012. The procedure will be an outpatient one, and the recovery period is a day or two. Then it’s on to the next step of being cancer free!
