Back to the Doctor

1 monthIt’s time to go see the doctor again. It’s been almost 1 month since my last appt on April 19, and I have an appt for next Tuesday to have a checkup with my oncologist. The plan is to see if there’s any signs that cancer is returning, and then do a more thorough check in another month.

The GOOD news is that I can get my chemo port flushed during my doctor visit on Tuesday. Some people say it needs to be flushed once a month. Some say every 3 months. Some say longer… We’re going to stick with once a month.

Last port flush was my last appt on April 19, so this will be at almost a month next Tuesday on May 17. The port flush is important because it cleans everything out of the port line and makes sure everything is functioning well. I’m glad to be getting it done on a monthly basis.

My goal over the past month has been continued healing from my treatment, and focusing on healing the cause of my cancer. I am very thankful for all the thoughts, prayers, juju, good vibes, positive energy, peace, and love that everyone shares. It is truly a blessing to receive such wonderful positivity!

Hoping for no news next Tuesday.

New Car!

Saturday, April 23, 2011 – Today we succeeded in buying a car! After 2 car lots, 4 or 5 test drives, and a several hours of thinking about it, we purchased a brand spanking new 2011 Toyota Corolla Sport, 5spd. It’s a sweet ride. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Hail Damage

Last night we had bad hail storm, with hail over 3 inches in diameter!

Jacqui and I were driving home from dinner when it happened. There are dents and dings all over the neon, and the front windshield is cracked in 3 places.

We got home. The driveway was COVERED in hailstones. You couldn’t even the the road in front of the house or the driveway for all the hailstones. Our power was out, the basement windows were busted, 2 of the 3 outside light fixtures were destroyed, glass shards and water are all over the basement, and our brand new car is covered in pieces of glass from the broken basement windows.

Luckily we are both okay, and the cat is okay. We’re still assessing damage on the rest of the house, and figuring out what to do.
