Sunday September 26 was a very special day, full of much love and support. Normally closed on Sunday nights, Regas Restaurant in Knoxville’s Old City opened up on the 26th for a benefit to support Andrew during this difficult time in his battle with cancer.
Organized by Dave Valentine and Sandy Golden, along with the help of Bill and Grady Regas and several others, the restaurant played host to over 120 people from 5-9pm Sunday night. The evening began with dinner, drinks, and good company. Following dinner, the new hardwood dance floor at Regas opened up with live music from The Invaders, East Tennessee’s leading music group on British Invasion music.
It was a rockin’ good time. Together people would Twist and Shout, and Twist the Night Away. There was an enormous amount of positive energy in the room. Andrew, who had not been out of the house since nearly July, was very happy to get the chance to see everyone. Jacqui, who has done an AMAZING job of taking care of Andrew during this time, looked even more stunning than she usually does.
Andrew had this to say about the evening:
To everyone who came out to this event, thank you very very much. This was an amazing evening. It is wonderful to see everyone. I miss you all, and look forward to being able to see each of you more often. Thank you all for your support.
There truly was a tremendous amount of support at Regas on Sunday night. Surrounded by such love and positivity should help speed Andrew on to better health.
Another Dance With Andrew event is in the works for November 6th, the first Saturday in November. We hope to enjoy this next shindig just as much as the last one.
